How we handle paid links

Where an outbound link to a vendor is an affiliate or paid link, it is clearly labelled above the fold and marked with rel="sponsored". A sponsored vendor is labelled "Sponsored — disclosed" wherever it appears.

Sponsorship never affects user ratings: aggregate ratings derive solely from moderated user reviews, and editorial opinion is labelled separately and does not feed the rating.

Independence

Our editorial assessments are made independently of any commercial relationship. We would rather lose revenue than misrepresent a vendor.
