What is Humanin?
Humanin is a 24-amino-acid mitochondrial-derived peptide encoded within the 16S rRNA region of mitochondrial DNA, first identified by Hashimoto and colleagues in the context of Alzheimer's disease. It is studied for cytoprotection, neuroprotection, and metabolism, but it is a research peptide and is not approved by the FDA, EMA, or any major regulator for any indication.

How does Humanin work?
