What is CJC-1295?

CJC-1295 is a synthetic long-acting analog of growth-hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH); the version studied in humans carries a Drug Affinity Complex (DAC) that binds serum albumin, giving a multi-day half-life (estimated 5.8-8.1 days in the pivotal trial).

Human evidence is very limited, resting mainly on a small early-phase pharmacokinetic/safety study plus one related pulsatility study, supplemented by animal work; it is not approved by the FDA for any indication.

How does CJC-1295 work?

CJC-1295 activates pituitary GHRH receptors to drive GH release, and its albumin-binding DAC modification extends exposure so a single dose can elevate GH and IGF-1 for several days.

What does the research say about CJC-1295?

  • A single subcutaneous dose in healthy adults produced dose-dependent GH increases of roughly 2- to 10-fold and IGF-1 increases of about 1.5- to 3-fold lasting up to ~11 days, with no serious adverse reactions reported. [1]
  • During continuous GHRH stimulation, GH secretion remained pulsatile in healthy men while trough GH rose markedly and IGF-1 increased ~45%. [2]
